Disable apps- maybe so, maybe not

Disabling apps is a GREAT feature of Android 4.0. And for the most part it works well (just be very careful what you select to disable!) It would appear, however, that disabling some apps just doesn't really work (besides the inability to disable Sprint Zone).

For example, I have disabled "Twitter for HTC Sense". I have never run Twitter on the phone, I don't have a Twitter account, I couldn't give a flying freak about Twitter. So I disabled the app. And, yet, it keeps appearing in my active processes under Task Manager. So I select it. And what do I see on the screen?

"Force Stop" "Enable"

Um.... if it is disabled, then why is it running? Ever? So I force stop it and the next day, it is running again. I simply don't understand this. I have seen a few other disabled apps appear as running also (for example, "Talk").

Anyone else notice this and/or have an explanation for what is happening?

I've noticed Google+, Movies and Books show up in the play store for updates even after I've disabled them. I then have to disable them again and a few days later they show up again with updates available. That's my pet peeve is having to see updates available for apps I could care less about and can't remove.

Yeah, it is really stupid that HTC put all these options in the phone but they flat out don't work. Considering WiFi always on during sleep doesn't work when selected as well. The only sure fire way to stop these processes is to root and uninstall them completely.

Already had to take one rooted ltevo back bc the NFC broke. Not trying to do it again. Think I'm gonna stay unrooted for awhile and wait on some OTA updates. It also takes the devs time to develop real quality Roma specific to this phone.
