Disable apps on Verizon G3?

I cannot seem to disable apps, it lets me hide them but I have not been able to disable any app I have tried many of them.

Remember that only certain system apps or preinstalled apps can be disabled. Try Google Play Books--go to Settings>Apps>All​, select Google Play Books, and see if there is a Disable button. You may have to Uninstall All Updates first.

I've been able to disable every app that I've tried. Try VZ Navigator, that one worked for sure.
