I posted yesterday how to remove Amazon apps by flashing the stock file, however, if you are weary of flashing but want to disable some Amazon additions, or really any package, then you can just use the debloater tool here :

For those that need a little more detail :
-Go to settings - about phone and tap on the build number 7 times to enable developer options.
-Go to developer options and enable usb debugging.
-go to the command prompt and type "adb devices" and make sure that you see your device
-use the debloater tool linked to above. If you don't know how to setup adb, then you can refer to this guide :

Installing the Android SDK for Windows, Mac and Linux: A tutorial http://www.androidcentral.com/installing-android-sdk-windows-mac-and-linux-tutorial

For now I just disabled the Amazon apps that I don't use, and this also removed the Amazon lock screen ads.

As a friendly reminder, be mindful what you disable as it can really mess up your system and require a factory data reset to fix.

I tried following all the directions, but I'm stuck. The tool won't recognize my device (just shows red lights and buttons greyed out). My PC does, however, recognize my device in My Computer, and I downloaded the Motorola device manager.

By the way, even though I installed SDK tools per your suggestion, the command "adb devices" is not recognized in command prompt...

Appreciate any help!

(note: my goal is to turn the lock screen off -- I care less about the ads and more about having to swipe each time. I didn't have a lock screen on my old phone)

On The latest Motorola G4 (4th gen) It would not hide the com.amazon.phoenix.apk package. Is there a way to make it work on this Phone.
