Disable Media Centre

I have an Android 13 H96 Max TV Box. I do not wish to have the built-in media centre and I take it player. I get fed up with having to make a choice before a video will start. Media Centre or VLC . I select the Always selection, but that does not appear to work, as next time this player selection pops up again and everytime
I have looked through the settings, but not found anything to help.

I would appreciate and help and advice, not a big problem just annoys me
