Disable phone notifications or icon badging, not both

I've switched back to the native Moto Launcher on my Moto Z2 Play (os7.1.1) (was using Nova), and is there a way to disable EITHER the badge on the Phone app icon OR the notification for missed calls? I don't need or want both, as it means I have to clear the notification twice.

Nova had a control per app for the icon badging. But natively, it looks like it's all or nothing.

I switched back because the primary reason I was using a third party launcher has been resolved, and Nova doesn't pass on several apps' notifications despite being enabled in its settings.
