Disable screen lock during calls on LG K20+

Hello. When I make a phone call my screen will lock as soon as I hit 'dial'. It locks before the call even connects and starts ringing. I have to hold and slide the unlock button that appears to unlock but it relocks in a matter of seconds. If I am calling a number where I need to use key prompts, for example: "Press 1 for English" or "If you know your party's extension, please dial it now" it's an absolute nightmare because it keeps relocking in a matter of seconds. I have been searching online for the solution for months and I'm going NUTS! I've had the phone for 3+ years and this started 5 or 6 months ago. I've disabled the main screen lock, checked for updates for everything. Done two factory resets. The first I restored my phone from a saved backup. When that didn't fix the issue I did a factory reset and installed everything manually. Each app one by one. The only thing I restored from a backup were my Contacts.

My phone is an LG K20+ (LG-TP260) Android 7.0 originally purchased, by me, at T-Mobile but I switched to Metro PCS. Not sure what additional info might be needed. Any suggestions to fix this issue?

Welcome to Android Central! When you make a call and hold the phone up to your ear, does the screen automatically turn off? If not, then either the proximity sensor has been disabled, or the phone didn't come with a proximity sensor to begin with. In the latter case, the phone has to have a way to prevent unintentional screen touches by your face when you're on a call, so it typically locks the screen, requiring you to double-tap, swipe up, or possibly enter your PIN to unlock again. If the phone has some setting to toggle the proximity sensor on or off (which I recall was an option with Samsung phones in the past, but not sure about LG), then this can happen when you toggle it off.
