solution : Go to SETTINGS > Security > Clear credentials (last item) and then go to Screen lock.
one more way try 5 times wrong password then enter via email address

On my Xolo Q800, i disabled Administrator privileges on "Xolo Secure" application. This made me go get rid of Screen locking or password during screen unlock.

I am LG G2 user, if you are facing this problem. Follow below steps:

1. Go to Settings
2. Select Security which under "General" tab
3. Under Credential Storage -> Clear Credentials

then you will be able to see all the options which are under "Lock Screen".

go to setting
search security menus
search any menus for credentials.
klik menus of -> c l e a r c r e d e n t i a l s.

done !

because of an error or the use of an unknown person, a certificate from the menu credentials installed.
then swipe menu, face and other choise become gray

None of the suggested fixes helping for me.i m using samsung grand 2 and the option to "clear credentials" under "credential storage" in security tab is disabled. I cant click on that. Please help..

This works on the LG G3 as well. Mine became locked after installing and using FoxFi on this new phone. Clearing the credentials opened the lock screen back up to changes.

Hey listen tbjorn i know how to decrypt your phone first go in to setting and choose factory reset option and do factory reset tlyour phone i hope it will work.....

And if it does not work just switch off your phone and start your phone again and when your phone is starting press lock+volume up and down key together press this three key together until you get biosmenu and when you see biosmenu select factory reset option with up and down volume key and wait until your phone get start automatically.i hopeit will work .....""''':;/??

I tried this but before that i already change my PIN to PASDWORD. Then clear credentials then i cannt chnge PAss to Pin again..before i have 2 options PIN and PASSWORD now its only PASDWORD..now clear credentials is grayed already. What can i do now? Should i restore factory setting? Just to erase the Password.

I had this problem and fixed it ! It took me a while. I did log in my company email into Outlook app on my phone. Then the app require me to activate device administrator (means setting password) so I did. After that, I realize this was the screen lock password and wanna remove it but no luck. So I came back to the Outlook app and cancel the activation. It succeeded, I was able to clear /change lock password
