Disabling factory apps slow phone?

So I'm disabling a bunch of Factory apps (AT&T non rooted) and I was wondering if this slows down or helps the phone, since I always get that warning that it may affect other apps.

If you're only disabling non-system bloatware (like most AT&T apps), it shouldn't slow things down. There are certain system apps you shouldn't disable, though, like Google Play Services and Download Manager.
