Disabling notifications

I've tried looking everywhere and I'm going to guess this has to be done through something like tasker. I want to disable specific app notifications while running Android auto (kik, Skype, and such) but I'm not seeing any option of how to do that. Has anyone found a way to disable select notifications without having to individually go into each app and disable/enable them?

I just spent time this morning addressing this very same issue. I ended up downloading AutoMagic Pro (very similar to tasker but easier to use from what I understand). Created a flow to change notification settings to priority only when in car UI mode and another to set it back when out of car UI mode. You can select any app(s) you want to give notification priority the default seems to be off for all. My issue was that app notifications would actually interrupt the AA connection to my head unit and kick me back to stock interface. Perfect solution and I'm now experimenting with all the other cool unrelated things AutoMagic can do. Highly recommended.
