Disabling the magnets triggering the lock screen on SM-t580

I am developing an app to be used in a live act. The app is running on a Samsung Tab A 2016 -SM-T580- that is attached to a mount with magnets. The problem is that the magnets trigger the lock screen. We have tried disabling the maglock option in settings>accessories and also disabling the magnet sensor using KnoxCustomManager.setSensorDisabled (tried both SENSOR_MAGNETIC and SENSOR_ALL). But the screen is still locked by the magnets.

Removing the magnets is not an option at this point.

Any ideas on how solve this?
