actually this has been reported to take up to 30 minutes in some cases, one person told me it took like 57 mins....

if you get impatient you can always move on to ADB method, im usually done with that method in like 5 mins or less

One thing I did notice was when I tried to download the root file I could not put it directly on my C: drive. My computer said that was only allowed by the administrator, but it's my computer. I had to save the root file to the download folder under my name, so it reads Desktop:Mike:Downloads:FascinateRoot_v02

For those getting "Error Device not found" message using ONE CLICK method. Unplug your USB cable when restarting then plug it back in before unlocking. Worked for me.

thats strange, doesnt really matter where you put it actually, i tell everyone to do that so that if we are troubleshooting we know where they put the file, lets say you put it in downloads folder you just need to change the first command to

cd C:\downloads\FascinateRoot_v02

i addressed this in the trouble shooting area and even in the actually batch file i think it tells you to unplug shut down media sync and make sure your computer recognizes the phone......

but thank you this may work for someone who is having trouble the other way

Hour and a half and nothing. Tried the second method, but kept getting a message in the prompt saying that was not a valid path. So frustrated I quit for now. going to get something to eat. I'll try again later and if I get the same error in the prompt I will copy and paste it so you can see

Another hour and a half wait after getting the prompt letting me know my device is about to be exploited..........and nothing. Going to get rid of the USB driver, root file, everything and start all over again. soooooo frustrating:-\

and this is one click method or adb,,,remember evertime you try to start over you need to reboot your phone i would go as far as pulling the battery to clear out temparary root

Thanks for all your help. Sorry I'm such a pain in the ass. I have been rebooting my phone and my computer between each try. I will try pulling the battery this time.

i really would try ADB if you arent already. Its the way i do it everytime now

Before I root my phone I have a few questions regarding what to do after.

If you root using the one click root method and the ADB root method this does not flash CWMrecovery? From what I understand this is important when you download ROM Manager and do a Nanodroid Backup, which I have read is a very important thing to do.

Could you explain what the recovery is, how to flash it once you use the first two rooting methods and if you need to do this. Thank you in advance.

if its not working with adb method then it def will not work with one click version

Try these drivers if those are not working
Samsung
unfreakin believable. I figured I would try the one click method another time. This time after about half an hour, my internet explorer encountered a problem and forced a restart of my computer

SUCCESS!!!!! Don't know what was different this time, but the one click method worked and it only took 5 minutes. Thanks Xcon for all your patient help with a noob like me

No problem..perhaps a computer reboot is what you needed so that crash was a blessing in disguise...ill make sure to add computer reboot to the trouble shooting for good measure
