Display brightness

I have a Galaxy S10 and I'm considering the Pixel 4. My only issue is that some of the reviews say that the display brightness is pretty poor. I can't test it in real life (outdoors, inside with bright light, etc.) because I've only played around with the Pixel 4 in stores. Can anyone share their thoughts on the display related to real world use? Is it really as bad as the reviews? Thanks everyone.

Thanks. Seems like Google dropped the ball on the display. Sacrificed brightness for 90hz.

I'm not having issue on mine but Samsung are brighter but I try avoid any phone in direct sunlight

I'm coming from an HTC U12+, and it's perfectly fine. The HTC might be a tad brighter, but it's a really great screen. Like anything, you just get used to it!

Pixel 4 at almost full brightness=note 10 at half brightness.
