Can I stop the stupid 'feature' which dimms the screen when power hits 5 percent? It makes the screen more or less unreadable unless indoors.

Do you have any power saving modes turned on?

As an aside, I would strongly recommend against habitually letting your phone drop below 10%. Doing so regularly can shorten the battery's overall lifespan. As a general rule, try to start charging when it hits 30-40%.

Thanks for the reply. No I don't have any power saving options on. But at 5%the back light goes off and the display slider is ghosted out. And thanks for the battery tip, I was under the impression that modern batteries didn't need that sort of consideration.

My guess is that this is a built-in system precaution that you can't turn off (unless perhaps if you root the phone).
