Display Distortion

My display, on every screen is distorted. Looks like a photo enhancement gone wrong. Black characters are shaded, 3D style in white and white in black. Background, photos and wall paper likewise. I've looked through all settings I can think of; display, photo programs etc. Anybody help?

Do you have Negative Colours checked? Accessibility> Negative colours

No, although have, and I can get rid of the shadows in my browser, just not regular colors.
