Display quality issues

Hi All,

Brand new user here, so far I've been very impressed and absolutely love the device and has hit all my expectation...except in on area, and that's the display quality for online images. I'm not sure if its a problem with the apps or the device but any pic I see online looks extremely grainy. Instagram, Facebook,Tumblr all the same. At first I did not notice this until my gf, who I was trying to show her the supremacy of this versus her iPad, pointed out the picture quality and now I can't get over it.

Any advice here? Is this a settings issue? All I read about prior to purchasing was the amazing display quality so I'm a little surprised. I should also note this is an issue in both portrait and landscape mode.

Thanks for any help!

If the pictures are low res they'll look even worse on a screen with high DPI like the N10. Facebook pictures are always low quality which is a problem with the app since there's no official tablet app.. Going through the browser seems to have better results for most things.

Pictures from a decent camera should look great on this device.

Just looked at the Facebook app again and pictures don't look that bad actually.

I've noticed likewise on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter, even if the image should be high quality. I wouldn't say it's terrible, but it's certainly not stretching the Nexus.

However, the same images viewed in the Gallery or on Google+ look stunning. Similarly, when viewed on a desktop PC they look great too.

Is it something to do with these apps abilities to display images on a high res tablet screen?
