Hi all, first post here. I have a Pixel 4a running Android 11. I have the Battery Saver set to Extreme.
It goes to sleep as it should. When I pick up the phone it shows the time, date, and the message I created with another phone number to call if the phone is found. That's all good. Then I swipe up to "open" it and get to the apps.

Here's what has changed in the last few days. In addition to the all those things that would appear when I picked up the phone and before I swiped up, it would also display the temperature. It no longer displays the temperature. I liked that. Can I get if back and if so, how? Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Is your Always On Display turned on?

It's not set to Always On. I think it may have something to do with the Internet connection. My guess is that if it doesn't have an Internet connection, it won't display the temperature. I turned off both the Wireless and Data connection for about an hour yesterday. It continued to display the temperature although it displayed only the last known temperature, 92 deg in my case. It was a night and a storm came in. The temp dropped 20 deg. The display still indicated 92 deg.

Then later on, I turned the wireless connection back on. It stopped displaying the temperature for a while. Then it started to display the temperature. Here is a sample screen shot of what it normally looks like. I've delete the phone number. What is this screen called? It's the one that comes up when I lift the phone while it's in sleep.Temperature display.jpg

Might be you have battery saver set to extreme

It's an Internet connection issue. Don't know when I checks the weather, but if it goes for a while without an Internet connection, it doesn't display the temperature.
