DL30 battery life sucking?

well around 6 yesterday afternoon I was about 10% under my what I had on DL09 (80% v 90% on DL09 after 10 hrs of minimal usage)

and just for amusement purposes, I tried to see how quickly I could kill the battery. So on max brightness and a mixture of watching various tv shows on the tv.com app and the Google Honeycomb press event using Flash through the browser, I ended up with about 4 1/2 hrs.

This is what I'm seeing...and I wish I knew how to fix it. Notice the stock battery shows barely moved but the digital readout shows something significantly different...

Did a battery wipe last night and waited until its fully charged before i unplug the charger. went to bed at 12am with 75% and woke-up at 7am with 68% not bad. I turned off wifi, bluetooth, gps and data. i get a decent 3 bars of signal where i'm at so antenna is not struggling to get a better signal which is one of the many reason your battery is discharging alot.

take note if you are in a location where signal is low your cellphone tends to boost it antenna signal therefor using more energy than normal use ... or maybe i am wrong about this.

I'm down to 26%...unplugged at 6:00 a.m. and it's now 12:00 p.m. This is not good. I left the phone with 55% a couple of hours ago and it's been sitting on my desk unused.

Currently at 87% after almost 5 1/2 hrs off using only 3G with minimal usage so that's it's tracking pretty close to what I had on wifi yesterday. Display has used the most power and only shows being on for a total of 10min. Cell Standby is showing 60% without signal so looks like that issue is still their or my signal is just crap.

with stock DL30, I lost about 20% overnight... I'm trying out superclean 1.0 and mattedblues theme and over night last night I went to bed with 54% and woke up and the phone was at 11%!! I've never had battery issues before, so I'm not sure what's wrong now... and since I flashed the rom and theme at the same time, I'm not sure if it's one or the other. might have to go back to the drawing board and take the theme off or something.

If you are in DL30 you can Flash to new Green CWM. It enters into blue, then if you select install from SD it goes into new green. But this is one of the rumors with red. My battery icon was orange, plugged in and went to 3/4. I unplugged and tried to run green and got a Battery Low error. Assuming this is due to the battery needing to be reset. Will do that tonight and let you know if Green CWM helps with Battery life.

I have DL30 also and have installed it using red CWM.

My battery life has been taking a big hit and I have all my apps closed and such. When I check the battery use, the media server is at ~40% after 4 hours of being unplugged. The overall battery life was at 68%

All i've been doing is checking email and texting(very light). Any idea on what could be causing this or probably a memory leak bug on DL30?

this build has had battery issues and more then likely will be rejected by verizon for various issues. Something about the power management on some devices is causing it but whatever it is isnt not acceptable. Enjoy froyo but it would be nice to have a device you can use all day, wouldnt it?

I haven't had any issues with battery life luckily, but I know a lot of people have so I don't doubt for a second that it's an issue. The day I no longer have to worry about my battery is the day I look forward to most.

Tried the xda fix earlier. After I did, I tried the following.

7 hours of wifi, full screen brightness and no timeout, with the last of those three hours adding GPS and blue tooth to the mix. Then adding strobe screen flashlight in for good measure for the last hour. I am now at 34% battery.

The xda fix worked for me.

I did exactly this last night...will watch it today to see what happens.

well, I charged my battery up yesterday and then went to sleep last night with my battery at 68%, and I woke up with this:

I'm using Superclean 1.0, with JT's new red cwm. the thing I've noticed so far is that wifi doesn't shut itself down like it did on eclair when you have the screen off. I'm also not sure why launcher pro is taking so much battery life now. I'll probably be shutting off wifi (although it's never been a problem for me in the past on DL09) and also trying to reinstall Launcher pro.

Yes it would. I'm actually relieved to see this post because I'm definitely not happy w battery.

when you drained your battery, how far did you take your bat down to? check out the how to battery thread, i expanded on a couple of steps that may work better for you.

so what you're saying is that my battery stats are not reporting correctly? I ran my battery down to 10% yesterday and then charged to full. I never had battery issues when I was on eclair. since I'm close to zero battery again, I'll try and drain this sucker and charge to full and wipe battery stats again, but I really don't believe that's the issue.

I use Go Launcher and it is not even showing up on my screen as far as usage goes. I love the program and it causes me zero issues.

it's weird, I've never had such high usage for launcher pro before on eclair.
