Installed DL30, and everything is working great. The only issue is that I am not able to send Emails from my exchange account, I can receive emails okay. When I try to send an email it gets stuck in the Outgoing.

Any suggestions will be helpful.

its accessed by webmail.company.org I am not sure if this is what you are asking.

Based on all the feedback I'm hearing I would recommend Touchdown or Roadsync. Something is jacked in the leaked release with mail. TD is 8,000% better than stock anyway.

To correct the issue I installed the Galaxy Tab Email, and now the phone is able to send Exchange Emails normally.

hot mail

Since updateing to dl30 my hotmail account downloads messages but I can't see them just a black screen. And my gmail acct says messages to large to view. Just currious if there is a fix for this yet?

I can't imagine being an Exchange user without it. Unless things have changed in the new Samsung client, the old one was abysmal.

Do you not like the way it works or the interface? (Or both?)

I'm curious because I actually prefer the native apps over Touchdown, which I use only for Exchange Task syncing.

Don't get me wrong, there's a lot I'd change about them, but I like them better than anything I've used on previous smartphones.

@Robcy -- I'm also curious about the Tab program.

Here's my quick list of what I can do with Touchdown that the native client does not do.
1. After deleting a message there is an option to return to inbox rather than go to the next message

2. Allows me to choose what I want to sync. IE: I don't want to have my email come to my phone when I am in the office but I still want my calendar and contacts to sync.

3. The ability to select/delete all messages

Again, this was just a quick list and I am not even sure if any of this has changed in the new native client but I doubt it has.

Update: For the heck of it I configured the new sotck email app and discovered that now there is the ability to choose what you want to sync. Now I can turn off the sync for email (or contacts or calendar) when I am in the office. Now the most annoying thing is it still does not have a smooth way of going back to the inbox after deleting a message.

  • I like the interface better
  • When I reply to emails in the stock app, somehow my font gets converted to a size that is so small, the recipient can barely read it.
  • Touchdown has an integrated contacts, calendar, notes, and tasks program.
  • I can adjust email text size
  • I can configure out of office and email rules (including custom notifications based on rule).
  • I can backup my settings, so if I do a hard reset or switch phones, I can quickly restore my configuration.
  • It does not limit the file types I can specify for attachments (I'm fuzzy on whether the Samsung mail client can do this, but it seems like there was some sort of limitation)
These are just some of the useful features for me personally. There are a bunch of other things in there that others might like as well. The weird font thing was the real deal breaker for me; otherwise I might have lived with it.

I also use RoadSync since none of the apps support multiple Exchange accounts like the original Droid did :/

Where did you get that from?

I got it from Paul627g he provided a copy to flash with CWM 2.x.x.x and another for CWM 3.x.x.x. I installed the first, and it has been working like a charm. I love the split screen UI, and drop down folder list.

I'd certainly like to see these things integrated into the Samsung client -- and remote wipe, too -- but I find the Touchdown interface a little too busy for my taste. The native apps for email, calendar, and contacts are all so simple and thumb-ready, they're easier for me on the fly.

(My Exchange host, 4smartphone, also likes Touchdown. They told me it's a much better technical implementation of Exchange for Android than the native programs.)

I use Touchdown only for tasks -- it's one of the few programs that syncs Exchange tasks on Android -- but I don't care for the interface in that section, either. (No way to have collapsible categories and filter to get all incomplete tasks without future or recurring tasks.)

I wish PocketInformant would release an Exchange-syncing version for Android. I used their program on my old WinMob device for years and loved it.
