Do custom roms address the Optimus V battery drain bug?

If you're talking about the 50% tws bug, then as I said, two roms have it fixed, aospmod and bumblebee. With any other rom, you have to toggle airplane mode for 15 seconds on boot to resolve it, and this must be done every time you reboot your phone.

Does that work even for the stock, factory ROM, or only for custome ROMs? I went through the steps in

Airplane mode works for some people, but not all.
