Do Dell wireless keyboards work on Venue 8 tablets?

Dell Wireless Keyboards Venue 8 tablets

Dell has different part numbers for Wireless Keyboards for Venue 8 Pro & the new Venue 8 7840. This may be a dumb question - but why would not the same keyboard work on both? They both use Bluetooth - which is communication standard and should aplly yo both? Right?

I would think so. Bluetooth is just a type of radio communication that most devices are capable of using. Unless the keyboard/tablet has a specific iteration of bluetooth (2.0,3.0,4.0) that will only work with devices on using the same bluetooth version. But for the most part most bluetooth devices are backwards compatible. I don't see why the keyboard wouldn't work. Give it a go.

I tested an old blue tooth Logitech mouse and it worked fine
