Do I need a SIM card to move music from my PC to my Galaxy S6?

[Android Central Question]

Just bought a used Galaxy 6 for a friend overseas who will insert their own SIM.
In the meantime I'd like to move some music over to the phone from my PC. Is this possible without a SIM?
I've tried syncing thru Media Player and it's not working. Thanks!

I assume you are connected via USB cable?

You could just copy/paste from Music folder on PC to Music folder on phone.

Welcome to Android Central! In my experience, Windows Media Player doesn't sync well with Android devices. The best way to copy music files is dragging and dropping the music in Windows Explorer. Make sure the phone's USB connection is set to MTP or File Transfer (see link provided by RumoredNow), and copy the music file or folders to the /Music directory on the phone's internal storage.
