Question Do Not Disturb schedule not working

Android 14. I have used the Do Not Disturb feature on a daily schedule of 10pm-9am for years. Most of that time it has worked. Now in the last few months I hear text notifications at 5am. What on earth could be going on here? I do use the stopwatch to see the elapsed time since I took a med so I am sure to stay off everything if too soon since taking the med. I can't imagine what the stopwatch and DND scheduling have to do with each other, but this could be someone's bright idea of how they know what I want more than I do, I'm not ruling anything out. Or it could be that google fired all their testers, that we're reverting back to software quality of the 90s. Maybe we need a new phone manufacturer whose motto is, "it's simple but it works." Sorry, I'm tired. Is there any way to get the DND schedule to work? Or do I have to set this manually every night? Is t here an app that will do this better than Android settings?

Who are the texts from, and which messaging app? Is it a Starred Contact?

The texts are from people I know but are NOT marked as starred contacts. Google Messages. I went through and only have the bare minimum allowed to interrupt DND. We'll see tonight.

Also, is this the Sleeping schedule, or a custom one you created? Look at its details to confirm it's set for 7 days a week.

The sleeping schedule is not custom. Adding a new schedule, it defaults to turn off at 7am. That time can be edited. It is correct. I went through an old post on google help. Special access permission is turned on for the google app, play services, framework. Last night I saw that it never turns on. It can only be turned on manually.

If this happens again, check the status bar to see if the DND icon is still present, or if it has disappeared. Just wondering if DND is turning off for some reason, or if these texts are breaking through DND.

Also, which phone is this? Does it have an option for scheduled auto-restart overnight? If so, then I would wonder if that is somehow conflicting with DND.

The phone is a Moto G14 with Android 14. On the notification quick settings bar, DND was there last night but gray, not colorized. It does not reboot overnight that I can tell. I'm not worried about the texts now, I took away all notification sounds during DND. Hopefully that works. Thank you.
