Verizon Galaxy S8 Do Not Disturb settings

I have my Do Not Disturb set to allow calls and notifications from Favorite contacts. I'd like to include phone sound on phone calls from Favorites, but not allow SMS notifications (sound) from anyone. Can this be done, or must I receive sounds from SMS notifications and phone sound from my Favorites if I enable that option? Thanks.

Although you can set messages and calls separately in DND, I don't think you can have messages on without sound unless it's already set that way prior to DND being enabled.

Thanks. I don't think that you can set calls and messages separately in DND. However, I do believe that DND uses the existing sound that was set when DND is enabled.

You can enable/disable calls and messages separately in custom DND settings, but no choice is available for separate sound settings in DND. That would be a nice feature, though.

Actually, I think that I can do something like my question asked in the first post. DND>Allow Exceptions>Custom>Messages From>None. Then set DND>Allow Exceptions>Custom>Calls From>Favorite Contacts only. I assume that my SMSes will be received, but silently.
