Do notifications show up on the second screen when the phone is locked?

Saw a video that say they don't. :'( Is this true?

Do they show up at all on the second screen when the phone is locked or in standby?

You can turn them off or have them show.

Does the second screen get brighter when a notification comes in and the main display is off?

It doesn't get brighter but as you get used to it it's really useful.

You will see an icon. For example when I get an email, the email will show up on second screen. After that a gmail icon will just sit there.

Mine only show in the 2nd screen when the phone is locked - they never pop up on the main screen till I downloaded a notifier app.

Many apps have a pop-up setting built in that wakes the lock screen and pops a notification and preview there. Most texting apps do that. To get other notifications there is an app called Nils that works fine.
