Lol I hate using my LG V20 when I got my fast no lag note8. My V20 is slow and laggy and its barely been used. Almost a new phone.

We're also talking about hardware failure too. Why not just acknowledge the hardware gets slow over time and dies while other phones don't do that. The Italian government isn't investigating Samsung for fun, it's a serious issue.

You can pick n' choose what you want to share/believe. It could be something or absolutely nothing- We won't know until an actual report comes out. This story is vague & months old with no updates.

Its apparent you have a hatred for Samsung for one reason or another(which is fine - we all have preferences/opinions) but you don't want to hear when a majority of people who own their phones have no issues after updates but scream look, look, look when there are those that do. All phones have lag issues with age - mostly dependent on how they're used.

And? We have users here who have used Samsung phones for years and still have them without lag... Yet you dismiss them.

Why should you having that old phone excuse the G6 video? By your own standards shouldn't the people here saying they have no issues with Samsung be enough if you saying your one LG phone doesn't have issues so that excuses LG?

Exactly. He dismissed personal accounts here from people saying their 3, 4, 5 year old Samsung are fine, and yet thinks he has proved something about LG because he has one that is fine. Anyway, I read the whole thing, and all the posts here and the premise is looking pretty silly. Actually, there was clearly nothing but vague speculation in the article itself. My prediction? This will amount to exactly nothing except possibly a waste of time.

Once again, I have a Galaxy S2 that is 7years old that works fine, no hardware failure.
There plenty of people using Galaxy phones that are over 4years old like the Note 3 happily.

The only reason why Samsung is also being investigated and LG is not because LG is too small to even bother with. Hardly anyone uses them outside thr US. They're like 4% of the market share worldwide as of Sept 2017. In other words, they're practically irrelevant. The 4th biggest manufacturer is Xiaomi with 7.4%, nearly twice that of LG.

Why do you think TouchWiz is nicknamed LagWhiz? People do notice the phone's performance drop after some time, there's many evidence. Yes, many people don't experience it, but many do. I've used Samsung phones for 6 years, I know that Samsung has very bad RAM management and problems arise overtime. I used to work at Best Buy too and was in charge of updating people's phones. The new update lags incredibly on older phones. If it slows down the phone, why release the update? I'm not specifically advocating for LG I've just recently started using one doesn't mean I think it's the greatest and everyone should buy it. I'm questioning Samsung's issues and you're dismissing it saying there's no evidence when there is and diverting the topic to me advocating for LG. What Samsung does is it uses high resolution icons and UI on their OS and it is one of the many reasons why it lags, AKA LagWhiz, which gets worse overtime. Question to you is why does Samsung does NOT allow you to revert back to an older OS? Even if you tried side-load, it would not work.. you can try but it may brick your phone. It's because they don't want you to revert back to normal when the phone was working perfectly fine without the updates and just like it was when you first purchased it. There's no excuse for blocking the ability to do that. With a laptop you can actually revert back and do a real factory reset with the old and original version. You will always see forum posts about people asking how to go back to the old OS because of instability and other problems.

BTW eversince I permanently disabled Windows Updates on me and my dad's computer, we both never ran into any problems again. My dad's computer was destroyed by Windows Updates, it just kept taking up more space, slowing down the PC, and eventually the computer got corrupted when I attempted to free up space. Same thing happened with my Windows laptop.. the updates crippled the performance and things started to malfunction. I already have anti-virus apps and Chrome anti-virus extensions + ad blockers so that helps with spyware and other security problems. What's the point of "security updates" if the device is painfully slow and almost unusable?

To turn off Windows Updates, press windows key + r (run) then type in services.msc and then scroll down to Windows Update and press disable. Do at your own risk but at least you won't have to factory reset annually bc of OS corruption from updates.

Actually guys in XDA are successful in downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow on the S7 Edge even after the alleged blocking patch.

And same again, it's not just Samsung. There are LG models with stern warnings on XDA to not even attempt to downgrade.

All your posts just assumes what Samsung wants. I still remember when you championed LG because they stuck to removable batteries. Guess whay, they went away.

As for them wanting you to buy a new phone every year, you must be naive to think only Samsung wants you to do that. Every single manufacturer in the world wants you to do that. But as it is, you have nothing but anecdotal evidence against Samsung.

To be honest... I only posted in this thread to see if you were making a thread to actually debate the topic at hand or if you were doing a one-sided bash fest. I can see it is the latter.

We have many members asking you questions and posting their own experiences and you seem to just dismiss that and go off your "evidence" that you find on Reddit. You take things you have read there versus what the members are telling you of their own experiences here. When questioned about the manufacturer you love (LG) you seem to dismiss / pivot. An example is this post here. You are pivoting so hard you are going off-topic into things about Windows Updates which wasn't even close to what was asked or even close to the topic of mobile operating systems... You're talking about desktops.

I highly suggest if you are going to make controversial topics to debate/discuss you do so with the actual intent to do just that... debate/discuss. This post is obviously not that as you just want to bash / say what you feel and disregard every other member in this thread regardless of what they say. That isn't a discussion or a fun debate... that is just you trying to stir the pot and poke at Samsung users. There is zero reason to do this. I myself am no longer a Samsung user but do you see me trying to make topics to bash their choice? No. Why? It isn't helpful nor wanted by the community.

Debates/Discussions can be fun and on this forum we have had many. A lot have been good and a lot of good ideas/view points get hashed out in a good way.
