Do screen protectors cover up current cracks/scratches?

Hey guys i recently dropped my phone and it cracked a bit. will putting a screen protector on it such as the steinheil cover it up and make it not visible?

yes i decided not to it is clearly not worth the risk. Its not the bad of a crack even and did not mean to make an argument thread.

Yeah I doubt a screen protector will cover up the crack(probably still see it) but id still put one on for future protection

The Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint one "might" cover it up some since it's sort of hazy - assuming you're OK with a screen protector that kinda dulls up things like it does. The lesser of 2 evils maybe?

bond - this is no scratch, it is a crack from dropping my phone. no lcd damage but there is a visible crack.

Ah, then in that case, I will shed some tears with you. I would go with an anti glare like Billk said first. Then possibly one of those mirror screen protectors?

Are you asking if a piece if plastic will magically heal glass, the answer is no.

At some point hopefully in the near future there will be glass replacement kits like the original droid has. If you phone is still usable wait for one to become available. Also watch ebay for phones that have drowned in the pool but still have good glass. The trick will be on finding the proper instructions to replace it, but someone will do it and post a howto soon enough. I'm sure there will be enterprising individuals that will be willing to replace it for a nominal fee.
