From reading this forum and others, people seem to be having trouble with Wi Fi either connecting, or constantly switching from Wifi to mobile data.

First go to your WI FI settings and turn OFF auto network switch.

This seems to solve most issues but if you're still having problems try this.

Go into your dialer and hit *#0011#

It brings up a hidden menu and you can now turn off WI FI Power Saving Mode.

This worked for me and I havent had an issue since.

How do you find this?
I'm in Settings -> Connections -> (long press) Wi-Fi and not seeing this option.

you dont long press the wi-fi.

you hit the menu button and it will open up a new menu where you'll see auto switch.

Yeah, I can't figure out why my WiFi keeps switching off...

...but I do tether everyday and I think what might be happening is that the tethering turns the WiFi off, but doesn't restore it afterwards.

Otherwise, the auto setting is unchecked.

Didn't work on Verizon, so I just keep mobile data on all the time. It didn't really use more power compared to wifi for me and I have UDP.

Menu is the lower left hand button, to the left of the physical button on the bottom of the screen.

On T-mobile at least, its

Menu ->Settings -> Connections -> WiFi
Once you get the WiFi list listing all your WiFi options, ignore the "Scan" and "WiFi Direct" options at the bottom of the screen and touch Menu AGAIN. This will bring up another pop-up menu. Choose "Advanced" and this will get you to the screen with "Auto network switch" as an option to turn on and off.
