Do We Really Still Need Screen Protectors?

Haven't used a screen protector for years...last several phones were lg g4, s7, n7, n5, s8, and now the n8. Don't think I've scratched a screen yet. My phone always goes in my front right pocket by itself though.

I am thinking I won't be using a screen protector on mine because of the curved screen but more importantly because I plan on using the S pen a lot so I want it to be a max sensitivity. I already received a clear Spigen case to slap on the back/sides from Amazon so I can still see the beauty of my new black Note 8 when it arrives tomorrow. I also orderd another Spigen case, Tough Armor in blue. I really wanted to get the blue phone but alas not available in US. I had the coral blue Note 7 for a few weeks which I really liked. The blue case will let me fantasize about having the deep sea blue Note 8.

I don't have one on mine and honestly just think having one just takes away from how your fingers supposed to flow and Interact with the phone. In other words, it worsens the experience.

Who else going with no screen protector?

Never. Just a UAG case....

I'm always using a screen protector, it just happend so many times that my screen broke and with the protector I can just changed it instead of sending my phone for repairing :/ but I was always clumsy with my stuff

Had no screen before then phone was broken ,then bought one and even it dropped off ,i just need to replace a new screen pretector ,which is way much cheaper .

I always get micro scratches when I go naked which I did with my Note Edge. I'm absolutely loving the Whitestone Dome protector.

I never learn my lesson with screen protectors. I always buy them to start, but always take them off soon after for various reasons. Then I go about a year without the screen protector and my phone is always fine. So, I'm not going to waste my money anymore on screen protectors. I was lucky with the one I bought for my Note 8 and was able to take it back to Verizon and get a full refund.

I always use a screen protector on all my devices. Currently using the crap one that came on my Note 8, waiting for Skinomi wet apply to be shipped. Have read too many issues with tempered glass protectors on curved screens and cases so went the film route. I've had a tempered glass protector on My Note 4 since the first week and it's still perfect.

I have never used a screen protector before on any of my phones. But the N8 is the first edged screen phone that I have owned. Because the edges are difficult to protect with a thin case, like the Spigen NeoHybid Crystal case that I am using, I had Verizon install a Zagg glass screen protector on my N8. So far, I am loving it without any noticeable touch or s-pen problems.

I have heard bad things about that screen protector.

Every time I have had a phone without a screen protector, it ended up with a shattered screen or scratches. I bought the whitestone dome for my note 8 which is absolutely amazing. It feels like just how the bare screen feels.

Cannyou send a good picture of your note 8 on with that dome protector?

Even though I still use them...I tend to agree with you. In fact, your point makes me rethink why I still use them.

Think about it. We spend all this money on these phones, devices that now have gorilla glass 4 or 5 (I'm looking at you SN8, V30, iPhone 8, etc.). If these devices can't take micro scratches or an actual scratch then what are we paying for. Really?! What then is the difference between the first gorilla glass and the current versions?

But then there's the argument of resale. This is the main reason while I'll probably continue to use them.

The difference between the first and latest version of Gorilla Glass is shatter resist and weight/thickness. As the number increased, Gorilla Glass became available in thinner forms. Gorilla Glass 5 is more scratch prone than earlier Gorilla Glass because they tried to make it more shatter resist. Basically it became softer.
