I am trying to decide if I want cell phone insurance on my new LG V20. What insurance do you have and are you happy with it? :)

I don't buy full blown insurance on mine, but my wife does due to being around the kids all day. I have come to the opinion that phones have become pretty unreliable from a design standpoint, so I do buy extended warranty without the accident protections. Going through Verizon, it's only about $4/mo instead of $15 for the whole shebang and it's good for the life of the phone.

Asurion through AT&T. 200 deductible. Refurbished phone sent next business day if things usually go smooth and timing of your claim. You can get 2 replacement phones in one year. Not sure what you get 2nd year, I never keep a phone much more than a year.

I was always happy with Asurion until my note 7 cracked and N7 Recall was announce 2 hours after I filed the claim, I tried to cancel and they screwed me around for a bit but in the end and a week later, the replacement claim was finally canceled.

I do construction, mainly excavation and concrete finishing so I am very hard on my devices at times.

I hear the deductible is much cheaper with these guys but it takes much longer (about a week) to get a replacement. I haven't had time to researched them much, otherwise I might have went this route. ohttps://www.worthavegroup.com/product/cell-phone-insurance/

I do on all of our phones we have 5 family plan. on T-MO I'm getting my V 20 tomorrow at the T-MO store.

Yes. Always have. Currently I pay $9/mo for Asurion on Verizon. You really should have it. Especially if you're not eligible for an upgrade. $200 deductible is A LOT cheaper than full price on most decent phones these days. Especially flagship devices

I have it. Its strange. My V20 just had the screen implode, new one for $150 deductible after I dropped it. When I sent my last (3rd overall) G4 back due to bootloop...had to replace entire phone out of pocket because they said even with bootloop, the charge port had slight corrosion, even tho i never got it wet and it worked fine up to the day I mailed it. Went all the way up the ladder and they claimed over and over water damage, so I pay full. Asked what the hell the insurance was for then, and was given some odd "malfunction only" answer which seemed odd again because the upgraded insurance claimed damage and theft also

AT&T insurance covers everything for $8 a month each of my 2 phones. Used it once $200 deduct to get a new one.

Asurian is pretty good for carrier insurance at least till they start sending out refurbished phones , still one of the better coverages for everything.
Still fighting with Samsung to get my Protection Plus back $129

Pretty much any insurance claim that is for something other than a factory defect will have some sort of deductible. I think it's to help prevent fraudulent claims. The fact that they are making you treat this as an insurance claim rather than a warranty claim definitely stinks.

This year is first time for me buying insurance. Could have used it before.

My LG G5 is the Unlocked International (from the greatest store in NYC) B & H 💜. So many great things, great departments, in-store or mail order. Excellent customer service!

LG call ctr (Philippines) made me laugh when a rep said "we don't fix those-no warranty" as if I would ever send my phone to LG repair in TX. I believe in backups... something goes wrong, I will attempt a final backup, remove my SIM, SD & case....promptly drop it in a full sink of water. I purchased what I believe to be the best insurance.

SquareTrade
$99 for 2 year coverage

any annihilation accepted
$75 deductible

coverage is transferable
pro-rated refund if you don't use it for the full two years

not for you if you lose things or get robbed

VZW sounds good until 200 deductible. What's the premium?

HAVE. A FANTASTIC TIME WITH YOUR NEW. PHONE.😎

RE: our friend with the imploded screen. Try a screen repair/ replacement shop. They are usually very fair. MAKE SURE THEY R A REPUTABLE PHONE REPAIR/ I.T. & ELECTRONICS ORIENTED SHOP. ( not just screens)

I forgot to mention. With Asurion, if you lose your phone....................... it's gets replaced for the deductible price.

Asurion also now has (local authorized repair shop) screen replacement at a cheaper price too. But it's ony in a few markets in this early stage and only covers a few models.

I always get it. I'd rather pay for it and not need it than not have it when I do. $240 over two years versus a potential $672-$830.
