Why would you leave it on if you are not using it? It has to eat the battery even slightly.

I think the battery consumption on standby is very very minuscule and it doesn't go into discovery unless you explicitly tell it to scan.

It does use the battery even if not using. About 2% if that. Up to you. I turn it off when not using

Yeah, I've not noticed any appreciable drain by leaving it on, as long as I don't have my headset connected. It's just a few less clicks to have to do when I'm ready to connect the headset - which I do several times a day. I'll turn off the headset to save it's battery but don't seem to need to do so for the phone.

It might just be my phone, but the last time I left it on, it killed my battery pretty quickly. I only turn it on when I'm using it.

I leave bluetooth, WiFi and GPS on all the time. I've never turned those off so I can't say if it helps with battery life or not.

I also leave Wifi on, but don't leave GPS on. Before the latest update, it did seem to drain my battery so I got in the habit of turning it off. Haven't tried leaving it on since the update.

Mine won't hold the connection long enough to "leave it on".

Jawbone and Tbolt don't play well together.

That's interesting; I had thought about getting a Jawbone. My sister is on Sprint & has the EVO & she really likes her Jawbone.
I've had the Jabra BT 8010 for several years (used first with a MotoQ, then with an OG Droid, now with my T'bolt). It has worked very well, but it's getting old.

It's always off as I don't use it (same with Wi-Fi and GPS). But if I did use them, I'd turn em off when not needed to conserve battery and to minimize the potential of rogue connections. Then again, I'm a bit of a security nut! :D

Mine simply won't hold the connection. I have Tasker turn on BT when in the car dock and then I turn on the BT headset. It will pair/connect but I will lose the connection and BT on the phone will turn off after about 10-15 minutes.

I've had the issue on stock, rooted stock debloated, multiple versions of BAMF. Don't recall if I had it the short time I was on CM7. I will pay attention now that I'm using Mini BAMF to see of AOSP handles BT better.

I think the issue has to do with the phone because, as I've said, the BT turns off on the phone rather than just losing the pairing.

Jawbone Icon has been the best BT I have ever used. I have had mine a yr and no issues. I got my best friend one for her birthday and she loves it as well.

I leave it off. No point being on. I leave GPS on just in case I misplace my phone then I can use lookout to find it.

where's my droid lets you text a keyword to your phone to turn the gps on and then auto reply to you with the coordinates/gmaps link

don't know how true this is but, I was told that if u leave ur Bluetooth on all the time, like airport, .mv,etc. someone has a laptop with Bluetooth, they can get in ur phone and get pics and all ur info.

You can tell the phone to not be discoverable to other devices & then they won't be able to get into your phone.
