Do you lock your phone S9?

I have become so frustrated with the (dumb) Smart Lock settings I decided to turn it all of. 99.9% of the time it would still force me to type my PIN to unlock my phone. Face unlock, Trusted devices, Places or whatever would not work.
I went as far as adding close to 20 different locations within my house and around my house to try and get the Trusted locations to work.
Nadda.

Bluetooth is on and GPS is set to highest accuracy

I don't use smartlock. I'm afraid that someone else would pick up my phone while it's unlocked.
I use the fps. unlocks nearly instantly.

Only place I use smart lock is inside my car, connected to car Bluetooth. Also, I use FPS on all my phones with alphanumeric passcode. I see no reason not to use lock since my phone has so much information and want to keep it as secure as possible.

always lock my phones, I used iris and fps as I don't trust face recognition

I use Smart Lock usually. I just got mine last night so I haven't set that up yet. Otherwise I have it set where it doesn't lock until like 10 minutes or so. I also plan to setup Bixby where she can unlock it as well, with a password. Handy sometimes!

I know have Smart Lock setup with my watch and my car

Trusted Places doesn't seem to work on my S9+ either, so I'm generally just using my fingerprint to unlock. I wish it did work reliably so that if I'm charging on my wireless stand I could still easily unlock the phone without having to draw my pattern every time.

I never keep my phone unlocked, not even in my own home. I can understand how some would want smart unlock to work for the convenience, but with all the stuff we keep on our phones--banking info, personal/work emails, all of our shopping apps with our stored credit/debit card info, social media apps, photos, messages--I find it's best to keep it all locked up.

Yeah I thought trusted places was working but my phone was set too not lock for 30 mins for some reason! After I changed it & reset trusted places it has a notification that trusted places was on and press to shut off... worked for a day! Now doesn't!!!

Trusted places home location doesn't unlock my phone either. My Garmin watch does and I am always wearing that.

It seems trusted places works at my office location. It just doesn't work at my house. That doesn't make sense. Wonder what I'm doing wrong. The home location is being set with google maps and is definitely at my house. It worked there with my last phone which was an Android Blackberry.

I've found it you have a lot of land... say an acre or more Google maps places it in the middle of your property... After moving the location to where my house is it has worked.

Good catch, wouldn't have thought of that. Not my issue though as I don't have acreage, but I deleted my home address and re-added it and it is now working at home as well.

Glad it helped... it's still working for me too. fingers crossed lol

Had this problem starting back with my S8. We live on twenty acres and the phone wouldn't stay unlocked at home. It took me awhile to finally realize that my position on maps was in the middle of the property. When I moved us closer to where our house sits on the property the smart Lock started working.
