I have an S7 unlocked US version, which I like but I am tired of the lack of updates and slow as molasses at getting Nougat. I have heard good things about the Moto Z Droid edition. I have had a salesperson at Verizon steer me away from the Pixel to the Moto Z because she says it is a truly solid phone, when I was in the store looking the other day. So, will I be let down by the Moto Z? What are some pluses and minuses. I read mixed reviews online. I liked the way it feels, but the store model had screen burn in so I couldn't really judge the display. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Moto Z Droid camera is way behind the S7 and Pixel.

Pixel will be the best for updates, sounds like that's important to you.

Verizon S7 has been good with security updates. I'm not sure if Nougat is out for it yet.

I have the Force but my wife as the Z Droid. It's a really good phone but the battery is too small in my opinion. If you're a heavy user you won't make it through the day.

If you're set on Moto and are on Verizon and camera is important to you, the Force is the way to go. Otherwise, the Moto phone I like is the Z Play. If you just have to get a really thin phone and like Moto, consider the Z. Otherwise Pixel is a strong choice or wait to see what the Samsung S8 offers.

Get the Force.

The bigger battery, improved camera and shatter-resistant display are worth the premium.

Depends what you want. I wanted a Moto. I wanted the best battery life if the least expensive package. I wanted to stay with Verizon.

That took me right to the Moto Z Play Droid.

I've had both the Force and regular Moto Z. I eventually sold my Force because the thinner Z with the battery mod on 24/7 is amazing.

That said, the Force battery is pretty awesome. It's just that the regular Z
is less bulky with mods attached.

I second this, love my unlocked Moto Z!!

I agree with the regular Z comments. The Force with any mods quickly becomes a monstrosity. Using mods with a regular Z is still easily pocketable. And I would assume mods are a big reason people are getting this phone. It's a pretty darn good stand alone phone, but there are better at this point.

I believe this is one of the best phones made! It's super fast compared to my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, which has a lot of lag time between presses of keys.
The Pixel has all kinds of problems, like most google branded phones. Awful problems like cellular and wi-fi connectivity going out.
Also, you can store a whole lot more stuff as the Moto Z Droid takes a micro-sd card up to 256Gig storage.
The PIXEL does not accept any external storage cards.
