Do you still like your Epic 4G

I actually really like mine. This is the first phone that I've had for over 6 months in recent years; it's been a year and counting. I even let my fiance use my upgrade cuz I really found nothing wrong with my phone, nor do I see anything enticing me. I do know that I'd like my next phone to have ICS and Sprint's flavor of LTE for it to be a worthwhile upgrade to me. If it had a keyboard it'd be a plus also; I'd rather have it than not.

I'm happy to wait on LTE for 2 years. I figure that will be about the time LTE 4G is ready to go on Sprint. So hopefully my Epic will last 3 years. If GB doesn't pan out to work as well as Froyo is now, I may flash back to what I have now. I don't have to have the latest software, just one that works and is reliable. Besides, in 2 years, the hottest new phones now and in 6 months will be dinosaurs by then running quad core processors, not only thin as paper, but flexible and battery life lasting a month on a single charge! Lol! :-!

No. I'm not happy anymore. I loved my Epic 4G until it started with the Error 128 and TwLauncher not responding. My text are very delayed, phone freezes, tuch screen buttons don't work. I took my phone to the Sprint Store, they did hard reset. Phone still sucks. I'm so not happy. My phone takes forever to load anything, I just give up and turn it off. The touch screen is not right. Very frustrating, I'm waiting for contract to end. Maybe iPhone will work better?

You could try taking it back to the same store. At my store if you take it back for the same problem twice they get you a refurb.

Thinking about it. I do love my phone, I love Android. I just want it to work as well as it use to. When I call Sprint customer service, the girl told me that the iPhone is better. I'm reading in this forum and I see that lots of other people are having the same problems as I'm having.

I am just a beginner, a lot of this technology is over my head. I feel like the people at the Sprint store were just as clueless as me. My husband got his Epic 4G the same time I got mine. His is fine. I use mine 50 x's more then he does.
I use most of the features everyday. My 2 year contract will be over soon.

Do you think one of the apps I downloaded from the Market, is causing my problem? I hate to think its my gmail. It is so frustrating waiting forever for things to open or upload. My batterie is getting too hot. And sometimes it just acts weird, like maybe I have a virus? My screen jumps around irraticly. Screen will turn black, sometimes it turns white. Can't get it back to home. I just have to turn it off. It has become praticaly useless.

I am going back to the Sprint store on payday. Just do I get another Epic or should I get the iPhone 4S?

If your not worried about 4g and all the other goodies that come with Android then sure, go ahead and give Sprint some more of your money for the Fruit phone.

Otherwise, it sounds like you might be in store for a refurbished Epic as yours may have some hardware issues going on...

FYI, just a few things to think about before jumping on board the Fruit phone.

It's possible. I've had my moments with my Epic as well where there's something rogue running. Most of the time it's Facebook for me. You can go to Settings --> Applications --> Running Services and see if the SNS Service is stuck on "Restarting". There are also apps in the market that will tell you what's running and making your phone peak out like that. One I used to use was called System Panel that's pretty thorough in showing you want's running and making the phone go nuts. The pay one can stay monitoring and at the end of the day tell you what it found.

If you have an upgrade available, one of the newer phones would be nice. Hopefully they get Ice Cream Sandwich at some point. But I know the feeling of just wanting the phone you already have to work the way it's supposed to. I had that moment with my Epic and thankfully we got thru it :)

Thank you for your help. I have decided to upgrade to Epic 4G S2. I will continue to read the forums on Android Central so that I can learn how to use my phone better. :-)

Glad to hear it.. I didn't mean to come off as harsh or bashing... I'm just trying to preserve what we have for Android vs Fruit...

The normal is people start on Fruit and eventually move up to Android because they tried a friends device or something and liked what they saw.... Its rare you hear of anyone on Android going back to the Fruit, so when I hear that I start to get on the defensive a bit :)

Enjoy your time with the SGSII Epic 4g Touch.. We have a great section over there with many former Epic 4g owners that have gone over to the SGSII so I know many of them and you will be in good company ;)
