Do you think Google TV will ever get WiDi support?

Think about how that would benefit the device. With Apple making airplay a bigger feature to their Apple TV this would be a way us non-Apple users could get the same thing but with our devices.

I'm sure there are apps that can do this already but I doubt they would work as well as WiDi.

Then again with Google TV moving away from the Atom chips maybe it's not possible. A man can dream right?

It would be nice to add as an extra but TVs with WiDi compatibility are kinda expensive.

My Fujitsu Laptop has WiDi and an HDMI port. Would love to use WiDi but $50+ for an adapter is a bit steep for how often i'd use it and from what I read it won't push DVD/Blu-Ray playback (which would be my main reason for using it) so a 12 foot HDMI cable works just fine for me.

It is a bit steep for a technology that is in development but if you're buying a $200 set top box it would be one of those features to make it worth while.

Also, I've seen it pushing out Blu-Ray quality picture with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound before. I'm sure Ivy Bridge has an improved WiDi chip much like Sandy Bridge did over the first gen core processor.
