Do you think I should have waited?

I upgraded to the note 3 the other day from my s3 and I was just thinking should I have waited until the galaxy s5 was released? Its too late now but do you think I should be disappointed with the note 3?

I love the snapdragon 800 but im worried in 2 years it will be very out dated :(

In 2 years any phone you have will be outdated,, even the s5

THE BEAST,,NOTE 3. SIZE IS EVERYTHING!!!

I guess it's not unusual here, but I'm already thinking about the next phones I'll buy, although I love this phone and no one could pry it even from my cold dead hands. But in a month or 2 there will be snazzier hardware in the stores and I'll want phones I haven't even heard of yet. It's the nature of the disease. ;)

So get something you want now, and regularly set aside money in a phone fund for yourself so you can indulge your wandering eye when you want to. (Awful terms, I know, but that's how it seems.) ☎

LOL, Really??

You make me feel like I'm already making plans to step out under the cover of darkness....LOL

Gallaxy! I was just looking at the 6inch screen because it's different, you are the only one I have eyes for.....(looks over shoulder at Galaxy Note 5 and thinks, Look at those curves the specs) I would never look at another Smartphone...

I read somewhere that a black Note 3 may be placed in the Museum of Awesomeness to stand forever as a symbol of what humankind can achieve.

You came to the wrong place to ask your question. You'd be hard pressed to find a Note 3 owner willing to admit that their precious phablet will be "old school" by next summer but that's the reality. The S5 isn't just a rumor, it's real and will be released in the first half of 2014. Some reports claim that it is already in mass production. The specs are mind blowing!! We're talking a quad HD (2,560 x 1,440-pixel) display, 64-bit Samsung Exynos 8-core processor, 4GB of low-power DDR4 RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery.

After the hoopla dies down around the S5, Samsung will drop the Note 4, with similar specs, maybe even better. Personally I hope the spec wars end soon. Eventually the specs are going to top out and the manufacturers can focus more on OS refinement, build quality, durability, etc...... I mean 8 cores, 4gb of ram and 4000 mAh batteries, how much more do we need???

Galaxy S5 Specs: 64-bit processor, 4GB of RAM possible | BGR

BOLLOCKS!

Did you actually read the thread?!

I did. I read several post admitting that pretty much every phone you buy these days is outdated within a short time. Kinda like "it's ok because it happens to everyone" BUT, that's not correct. At least Apple let's you enjoy your new iphone for about a year before introducing a new model and windows phones come out at a much slower pace than androids. Samsung unveils a flagship one day and begins replacing it the next. It's very hard for an early adopter to enjoy a Samsung. Especially if you read tech blogs and participate in tech forums. The OP is in that window of buying a Samsung a few months after it was released and right around the time the next best thing is about to hit. I would wait on the S5.

Ehhh...comparing the Note series to the S line is apples and oranges. The S and Note are pretty much on that annual cycle, just like apple. Sure the S5 sounds nice, great. I like the form factor and S-pen too much to consider going back to the S line

Actually, Apple lets you enjoy flagships without any considerable changes for about two years. >:]

Seriously though, Samsung releases their flagships at the roughly same cadence as Apple. You're lumping the S and Note series into one line, which is incorrect. Different phones with different target audiences. Each series has a release cadence of roughly 1 per year.

Windows phones come out at a much slower pace than Androids because few people want them.

That's funny and I completely agree!! I had an iphone 3G and then an iPhone 4. When the 4s came out looking just like the 4 I bought a S2 Skyrocket. I haven't owned an iPhone since the 4.

He means with the plans below.

AT&T Next
T-Mobile JUMP
Verizon Edge
I don't know about TMobile or ATT, but on Verizon Edge you are NOT getting an upgrade (subsidized phone). You get no discount at all; merely the full price of the phone is broken up into 24 installments. Thus with Verizon Edge, you are not only paying full price for your service (which includes the price of a subsidized phone) but you are paying full price for the phone, too.

Verizon Edge does not make financial sense at all. And it is not an upgrade. You pay full price.

So Verizon does NOT upgrade for 24 months as I said.
