Do you think it will have better battery life like the s8+

exactly ,the whole power phone title that bestowed on the note 4 is way over played . fact is all the notes after the note 4 are a better phone in every way an it's not subjective those are the facts . Oh an the battery in the n8 will be bigger then the battery in the beloved n4 that's another fact

Re: Do you think it will have better battery life the s8+

I expect that it will have better battery life, or at least rather close to the same. The prior notes tended to have their kernel and other power management settings geared towards more longevity, rather than raw performance like the S series.

Re: Do you think it will have better battery life the s8+

It used to be a power phone. That changed with the Note 5

Nah, it never was. That's just a myth made up afterwards. :) It used to be a really big phone with the latest specs in a period when a generation for phones was roughly 6 months long. Now advances are slower, so the lines between spring and fall releases are very fine and so the differences between the Note and the S series are going to be pretty minimal.

Take out the word power, and we're saying virtually the same things. So yeah I agree.

There isn't much separating the Note from the rest of the industry anymore. Luckily it's original weapon is still its most vital. The S-pen.

Dun think it will be better since the processor is the same as S8.

Re: Do you think it will have better battery life the s8+

Because the industry has changed. Every phone is a "power" phone. There is nothing separating the Note brand from the S series save for an S-pen. The Note brand used to be more powerful spec wise than any other phone.

Not the case anymore... At all.

I'm most likely buying a Note 8, but I can still admit this.

Fair enough, it did use to have its own design and better specs than the S phone from earlier in the year. Had more storage, larger display, improved processor and a better camera. Then the Note 5 was IDENTICAL to the S6 Edge Plus, one had the pen, the other had the edge.

Not better in every way, just most. Note 3 and Note 4 had the ability to increase screen sensitivity and work while wearing gloves, something I wish they had kept since I live in MN. It was nice being able to answer a call or text outside in the cold with gloves on. At least I could still pop the pen out on my Note 5, S7 is annoying to use in the winter.

Re: Do you think it will have better battery life the s8+

Isn't Android 7.1.1 supposed to improve battery life through the way it handles some internal functions? That could give the Note 8 some advantage even with a smaller battery, no?

Re: Do you think it will have better battery life the s8+

I'm still hoping for some major new breakthrough re battery to be announced in a couple of days..

Re: Do you think it will have better battery life the s8+

Probably not.

I hope Samsung releases their backpack battery pack with an IP68 rating like they did with the Note 7 last year. I won't have to worry about the battery size of the Note 8 if they do.

Re: Do you think it will have better battery life the s8+

Same chipset, more ram, bigger display, smaller battery and same core firmware. Seems a given battery life will be less. My estimate is up to ten percent less. That still will not stop assertions of hours more battery life by some ;)

I hope your wrong... For nearly a thousand bucks.. Smaller battery disgusted

Re: Do you think it will have better battery life the s8+

Given the problems with Note 7, I wouldn't be surprised by a smaller battery, although newer batteries tend to have better technology so will be real interesting to see battery life in real life use.

Re: Do you think it will have better battery life the s8+

Dun think it will be better since the processor is the same as S8.

It'll have more ram . And that alone will make it smoother than the s8 over time . Not that my s8 isn't a beast now it is . Have you for gotten that both the iPhone have the same processors to . But more ram in the plus

Anyone else concerned.. I'm coming from the s7edge I hope it's better .
To be totally honest no plans on using the pc docking or Bixby.. But I do miss the pen.
Real shame there's no real competor with a pen

Re: Now it's announced my now now my only concern is the battery life...?

I totally agree with you. I have the S7 edge as well. Can't see how the Note8 will be any better. In fact, the battery may be the reason I don't get this phone. Will wait for the real world reviews in Sept to make a final decision.

Re: Now it's announced my now now my only concern is the battery life...?

i was worried about it a little at first, but the battery is only slightly smaller than my s8plus, and the s8plus is a beast! it out last my s7edge.

i get through a full day w plenty to spare, there are a few times ive really spent a lot of time with the screen on and i used up quite a bit of battery, but that is going over the 4hr SOT, so i really don't think the battery will be a problem for most.

i never liked the battery on the note5, but if the 8 runs as efficient as the s8plus, a 3300 mah battery shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Now it's announced my now now my only concern is the battery life...?

I'm waiting until AT&T gets it in the Stores but I don't see it being a problem with Android 7.1.1 and the processor, etc. I bet it'll be fine!

S8 plus battery much better than s7 edge. It will be a big but not huge improvement for you.
