Do you think it will have better battery life like the s8+

Re: Now it's announced my now now my only concern is the battery life...?

I'm not concerned about battery as much as I want to know how the new cameras fare. Specs sound class leading but watching CNBC Fast Money yesterday with them doing a couple of compare shots versus an iPhone 7... I preferred the iPhone 7 pics both times.

Of course these are taking by non-techies and only a couple of shots but still interesting to see how a couple of quick shots out in Time Square with two phones at same time do.

I doubt it'd be better than S7 edge.

Re: Now it's announced my now now my only concern is the battery life...?

Are you frequently browsing the internet for 13 consecutive hours on LTE?

Not typically, but those stats come from Samsung and usually overestimate what you would get from actual usage. Whatever the actual number is for both, getting two extra hours from the S8+, while saving a few hundred dollars at the same time, is starting to sound appealing. I would definitely appreciate those two extra hours on days I travel for work and it is not easy to charge during the day.

So frustrating they went with such a small battery since the N8 is definitely better in every other way.

Not to mention not being near a charger the whole time?

I am not concerned about the smaller battery in the least. Another issue that has been blown out of proportion. I think some people just need to nit pick. In the real world, I don't think 99% of the people will have a problem with this.

Those stats are meaningless in the real world. Nobody browses the web for 13 consecutive hours without doing other things with their phone.

The battery is 5% smaller than the S8+. The S8+ averages 5-6 hours SOT so the Note 8 will get about 20 minutes less SOT in real world use.

I typically charge twice a day...and that's with being on Wifi at work (so no constant searching for signal/connection) and some light/moderate use through the morning then I just plug in my S8 while I'm at lunch and I'm good to go the rest of the day.

Unless I was out somewhere, with no access to a charger (of any kind) then I might worry about my phone dying -- but not really. ;)

So I still have to carry a charger.. So much for innovation

Well your phone is still searching for a signal / connection in the background. Only if you're in Airplane Mode would it not be doing this :).

Re: Now it's announced my now now my only concern is the battery life...?

I am concerned about battery life but not that much. TBH If it runs like the N7 (minus the BOOM) I'll be fine with that.

Re: Now it's announced my now now my only concern is the battery life...?

Went into the store to do a jump on demand and I was in and out in 5 minutes with nothing down, and $24 for shipping! I'll take it!

I'm sure it does...but it doesn't drain the battery nearly as much if I were on 4G instead. :)

True. A strong wifi signal helps a lot with data consumption :).

Real battery life links and reviews

By now the media have had the note 8 for nearly a week. How's it holding up.. Please let's post links to honest reviews about the battery usage in the real world.. It's my number one concern it's heavy enough I don't want to carry a charger..

Re: Real battery life links and reviews

This isn't a full device review. This is just a first look overview of the device.

I'm not sure review units have been released, but I'm not a YouTube reviewer either. So far the only videos out there are brief first look, hands-on, announcement event, initial reaction videos. Most device review videos usually drop the week of or the day of, the official street release date.
