If I charge via USB 2.0 on my laptop plugged in my phone will charge to 100% from nearly dead (or dead) in about 5-6 hours. This is fine since I charge overnight. If I use an A/C outlet it will charge in about three hours under the same circumstances. If I use my car charger it is fully charged in about an hour. These are all on the extended battery. Charging in my car or on a wall outlet does not give me as many hours of use throughout the day, shortest being on the car charger since it is a fast charge.
The one thing I have always learned about fast charges on batteries is that it can be just like pouring a glass of pop. If you pour too fast it is mostly fizz, but as that settles there is not as much liquid. If it is poured slower then there is less fizz and more liquid. Same concept applies to fast charges on batteries.
