Do you turn off your s5 through the night ?

I leave mine on. I use an app called Timeriffic, which I have setup different profiles for. At 11 pm, I have it set to mute all notifications and ring, then at 7 am, it turns everything back on.

you need to consider this: you always have to unplug your phone off the charger when it's 100% full, even if it's off or on. because if you keep it charging while you sleep and the battery gets full, you will have a battery draining fast problem. it doesnt matter if you turn it off or not, just be carefull not to over charge the battery.
That may have been true years ago but it most definitely is not true now. Today's devices have intelligence built in to prevent any issues like this. Check out batteryuniversity.com for more specific details on today's batteries.

Battery drain overnight is very low on S5 unless you are in very poor signal area. I leave WiFi, data and sync on but location off. Having only 4% drain at max. More often 2~3%.

Today I'm going to try out, turning on ultra battery saving through the night, this way I could get emergency calls and save some battery life :D :)

I leave mine on the charger overnight with only call sound & WiFi on. Mobile Data and notifications are off. I use Timely as my only alarm clock since my phone is always with me so my phone must stay on.

The new Lithium Ion batteries are not so sensitive thank goodness.

Also, the Samsung S5 has a Smart Charger module that shuts the charging rate down to just about equal to what the phone consumes........

so, that being said, I never take my phone off the Qi wireless charger pad until I leave the house at 0500.....
That way, it is 100% to start the day off....

I have been doing that since I got my phone, and the attached pix is only a week old, this does not look like a battery that has been ruined by over charging.

I keep mine on at night because of emergency calls from family. They happen more often than I'd like. If the phone gets wonky I just do a battery pull. No harm done.

Boom! From My S5

Always on..this is my only phone, alarm clock, weather alert, med reminder, calendar on events for my day before I leave the house. I let mine get to 100% and promptly take off off the charger once it's done. I make sure I have enough charge to get me through the night so it's not on the charger all night.

I plug mine it at night. But it is in the frontroom and I am on the other side of the house in the bedroom.

I've only noticed a 2-4% battery drain overnight with all apps and processes killed and nothing running with the phone still connected to wifi. I do disable Bluetooth but this is mainly so it doesn't interfere with using my old iPhone for music in the car, and I simply leave it off most of the time. I'm not sure if this will have minimal effect on battery drain or not at night.

I guess if you want to save 2-4% of your battery overnight go for it :p

My husband faithfully shuts off his S5 every single night. (Shutdown tone always makes me jump.)

I plug mine into the charger at night with wifi & everything on & reboot my S5 every couple of days
to clear things out. (A habit from my Blackberry days. :D)

Overcharging the battery is an old wives' tale at this point. Unless something is wrong with the charging system there is no such thing as overcharging. And if there was something wrong with the charging system you'd have other issues to worry about.

I do not turn off any of my phones. I plug them in, let them charge, and put them on my night stand in case someone has to call me at night for an emergency.

It's my alarm clock so I can't turn mine off. Ultra power saving mode for me (with the clock as one of the apps).
