I've been using the Gallery app since I got the phone... probably because they put the shortcut on the home page but always thought it kind of plain the way it's organized. I just tried the Google Photos app and it looks more Apple Photos in layout so just wondering which app most people are using to view their pics and videos.

Ok. I was going through the list of apps in BK Disabler in the quest to disable bloat and reduce useless services running and redundant apps like two gallery apps and stick with one.

Google photo sucks tons of data if you are browsing on no wifi. Unless I have a picture that is on the cloud and not on my phone, I use Samsung gallery app.

That being said, I like both and use both.

Thanks. LOL, that's another person that uses both. I should have added the option for "Both." :)

I use both but with different intentions when I do.

Browsing pics I just took... Gallery

Browsing down memory lane or pulling a pic to share.... Google.

Also Google fixes me up with stylized photos and whatnot.

+1

Gallery only. Never used Google photos since the built in Gallery works fine for me.

I use Gallery because it allows me to adjust background blur, switch to wide view and I like the editing controls. I use Flickr for cloud photo storage and sharing. I don't usually use Google services.

I use both solely for the reason of editing. when editing a live focus photo the gallery app is the only one that can. along with that when utilizing the live focus and having it save the wide angle photo, again this option to toggle is only available in the gallery app. for this I use both

Samsung's gallery app, I turn off as many Google apps as possible.

However, Piktures is another great app. 😁

Edit
I'm posting from phone app, so no poll visible for me.

Edit 2
I've voted now, using pc

Both. I use Gallery for recent pictures. I use Google photos because it backs everything up to the cloud and I can go back and look at old pictures

I've got nearly a decade of photos on Google and access on multiple platforms. Once in a while I'll need to use Adobe Photoshop Express for some files.

Google Cloud Drive also to store Docs, Sheets, PDF file, 60GB music files that can be accessed in Play Music.

OneDrive. Was SkyDrive and got free storage with Surface.
Amazon Cloud free with Prime.

Samsung Galaxy Smart Crop files don't always go into Gallery, not sure if it's an Oreo issue.

I use them both. I used to use Quickpic exclusively before CM turned it into crap.
