Doable lock screen but still use fingerprints to log in?

I am new to Verizon. I was previously on T-mobile. I'm wondering if there is a way to not have a password on the lock screen but still be able to use your fingerprints to log in to websites. Every time i try to disable the lock security, it didn't let me use my fingerprint for logins. thanks

no. the password is a backup just in case.

To unlock, you can use your fingerprint - after the first time after turning the phone on, when you have to use the PIN to unlock it. And, if you can use the fingerprint to log into a website, that still works.
