Does 2.2 fix sms bug??

Currently with 2.1 when sms messages come in they come in out of order most of the time. Does 2.2 fix this? Does it make sms look any better?

i never had that problem with 2.1. it def isnt a problem with 2.2.

I'm using an evo on sprint and this is happening. You mean to tell me this is only happening to me? Where sms messages come in out of order? Like I will text someone and when they respond it comes in before my message in the list like as if they text first.

I had this problem for awhile too. It kind of went away...Might have disappeared when I downloaded Handcent.

Give it a try.

Agree on handcent. This is not something only you are experiencing. Handcent fixed the problem for me, and I like it better anyways.

It's the network or SMS server. I have had it happen occasionally with several different phones.

This has to do with roaming . Not the os version.
Mine does this when my phone goes into roaming. Changes the time a few hours ahead on incoming messages

Then only bug I'm seeing in SMS is the notification sound. Let me explain. I'll send a text using the stock "Messages" app and just set the phone down. When the person sends me a text back, I do not get a notification sound if the text window is open to the person whom I'm texting. If I exit out of the application, notification sounds work fine. This was working fine in 2.1.

Agree on handcent. This is not something only you are experiencing. Handcent fixed the problem for me, and I like it better anyways.

Yeah handcent seems pretty good but seems to be a little slower in sending out sms and mms.. How is chomp?

I was hoping 2.2 would fix this because I like the stock app, but it never happens in handcent, so its obviously a problem with the app.

I will admit that mine did this sometimes too. So far it hasnt done this on 2.2. I thought it was a screen response issue, but looks more like the app now.

I notice this happens when I'm in Roam or the person sending me a message is in Roam.

It's not a network error because my wife's phone doesn't do it (and she's on the Intercept).

If a person sends me a message, I reply, and they reply (within the same minute), it will always put their reply before mine...no matter what. My BB Curve does not do this, my wife's Android phone does not do this. My EVO does. It's something with the EVO that causes it.

I have been having an issue a little different. I was on the phone last night and a mms came in. I kept getting a annoying ring in my ear over and over again. It went off probably 20 times. I couldn't stop it or dismiss the notification. I got a message saying invalid network error. Not sure if that's exactly what it said but it was very annoying. The person in the line couldnt hear it. Anybody else?

Same for me here. Only when I am roaming does the sms bug appear with me.
