Does Anybody Actually Use The Figerprint Security Feature?

Do Use The Fingerprint Scanner Feature?

At first I could not get it to work regularly... Watched a few YouTube videos and "boom" works 99% of the time... So yes it's on my phone now and I don't see it leaving anytime soon....

The first time I used it I didn't care for it. Now it's all I use.

I set 2 of the 3 as my right hand thumb, and the 3rd as my left hand thumb. I don't usually unlock with the left hand, mostly the right. I found by having my right thumb saved twice decreased the 'failed' verification dramatically.

Would like to see them have 5 saveable instead of three.

Love the feature though

I don't even use the "swipe screen to unlock" function. No way am I going to bother with fingerprint scanning.

My roommate uses his, if the note 4 has a finger scanner I will probably use it

Try this.

Fingerprint 1 - Dominant thumb, all 8
Fingerprint 2 - Same as #1, all 8
Fingerprint 3 - Your next most used finger as backup.

This method gives you 16 copies of your dominant finger. I find it works significantly better this way.

I use it, one handed, all the time. I have my right thumb in two of the spots and my left in the third along with a swipe of each index finger just in case.
Obviously, with this set-up, it works better with my right thumb, but I use it every day with few issues.

I really want to like and use this feature but IDK I guess you need patients. No really concern about Lock Screen or Security I just want use it.

If it's not 90%+ success rate, I just delete and disable it. LOL I've gone back 4-5 since I bought it but it's not working out.

I used it for a couple weeks but its just faster typing in a PIN.
I used to think this but it's really not so. As others have suggested if you use all three fingerprint "memory slots" for the same finger (in my case my right thumb) it's really amazingly accurate and actually maybe eaven easier than just using a swipe (i.e. no security). Seriously, give it a try and see what you think. The added knowledge that your phone is virtually 100% secure in the unlikely even that your phone is ever stolen or lost is a real plus too.

Just got the Samsung Galaxy S5 and after setting up my email the only options I have left are Pin or Password. Finger print swipe are no highlighted anymore. It says
"Turned of by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage."
Is there anything I can do or is this a setting within my email server that does this?

Will give this a shot. I remember trying to get my thumb print scanned took several tries.

Wow, I'm surprised there are so many out there. I expected MAYBE 25% of users to use it on a normal basis. That's pretty impressive. I may use it for a week and see how I like it. When I got the phone I went through turning stuff off. Next the hearbeat sensor, this was something else I turned off without even testing out.

I use it and it works well. Fingers easily above 95% success rate, thumbs are a bit trickier, due mainly to the difficulty of a flat and straight swipe using them one-handed, but with practice are OK. Not much if any worse than my one-handed pattern accuracy.

I think the key is to get a wide variety of examples. Don't get 8 samples doing the exact same swipe. Re-position your finger at different angles each time.

My main complaint is the limit of 3 fingers. I use both thumbs and I'd like to have both index fingers as well.

Mine was working just fine until I decided to make all three options scans of the same finger (thumb). Now I rarely get it to recognize my print. :( I think I should have left well enough alone. I think I'll keep trying to set it up until I get it to recognize my print...or I get tired of trying to get a good match. grrrr...

I love the finger print scanner. I have used it from day one and its strange because I never use pins, patterns or passwords to lock my phones. I registered my right thumb to all three users and it works great and is so fast and easy. Only time it takes more than once is if my thumb is wet, greasy or dirty.
