Does anyone actually use bixby?

Been using Bixby ...or trying to. Set up a few commands and sometimes they work. For instance.. i set up a “driving” routine. It is supposed to turn on Bluetooth and then Pandora. Sometimes it does it...other times it tells me I have to unlock my phone first.,,argh. Defeats the purpose. I believe I have settings somewhere to allow this while locked Any suggestions? Thanks...

Just not my thing to use voice command, whether it's Bixby or Google assistant. I'm always handling my phone anyway so will change anything I want by hand.

I don't use it. I disabled it on day one last year when I got a S8+ and it was the first thing I disabled on my Note 9.

If they hadn't of given it it's own button, I probably would have left it working. Since it has it's own button, I kept accidentally pressing it which was annoying.

I don't use Google Assistant either.

For all the people who DO use Bixby....how about some tips and tricks for the best usage. Thanks.

With seven Google Homes in the house, I don't need Bixby for voice control, but, I would like to learn more about it and try it out IF I DIDN'T HIT THE STUPID BUTTON 38 TIMES A DAY! Since I do hit the stupid button 38 times a day, I've remapped it for Google Assistant. Yes, I still hit the stupid button 38 times a day but GA isn't near as obtrusive as Bixby. Can you not activate Bixby with the button disabled? I just tried and he didn't reply. He's probably mad at me ;)

Question : does anyone find themselves saying please and thankyou to Bixby /Alexa
I can't help saying please and have even woken Alexa to say thankyou... She replies with 'no worries' or similar

I say please and thank you to my Google Homes all the time. Just the way I was raised I guess :) With Continued Conversations, Google stays "awake" for eight seconds after you ask a question or give a command. Saying "thank you" signals you're done and he says you're welcome in many different styles (you're welcome, no problem, that's what I'm here for, just doin' my job, etc). Soon (in Google time) they will have a "Pretty please" for kids.

I gave it a fair go and found Bixby to be still an Ai in the making.

I much prefer Google Assistant for what I want to do with my phone.

Bixby home is disabled on my N9 and when it becomes available via Samsung I'll disable to Bixby Button.

I prefer that route instead of remapping apps or package disablers due to personal preference.

I'm finding Bixby very frustrating but i think a lot of that is down to learning which voice commands to use. typically i have to ask more than once for it to understand what I'm asking. if i sit and think carefully it works sometimes but the problem for me is I'm a massive fan of the assistant. it just works flawlessly for me. two attempts on Bixby that don't work and i give up and go straight to Google assistant. i shall persevere though, Samsung do a lot of things right so i can't imagine them getting Bixby that wrong. it's me not you!

Haha excellent! I'm just the same. I believe that continued conversation is still in the pipeline for Alexa. Id like that.
I have a routine where Alexa turns on my light and electric blanket at night. She dims the light to a red glow while I read. Then blanket off. Then I say goodnight. The light goes off and she says goodnight, sleep well etc.
Love it! Lol
My partner says if Alexa could make a cup of tea he'd be obsolete!
I did ask her - her reply? 'I am not able to do that YET!

I used it a lot when I first got my S8+. When it worked it was invaluable, like when I went out into direct sunlight and couldn't see the screen for anything, so I asked bixby to up the brightness and was able to use the phone. However, there were way too many frustrating misses. It would completely butcher my sentences despite multiple retrainings. I finally gave up and just went back to Google Assistant, which got it right almost every time. It wasn't worth it for me to go back to bixby, just to eventually have to use Google when it didn't get what I was asking at all. Even with contacts, it completely failed more than half the time to simply place a call, getting popular names wrong. I may give it another go on my note 9, but I'm not expecting it to be much better.

That's a big nope for me. Disabled on my phone, and my wife's phone - She hate's Bixby more than me. I love the Google Assistant though!

Why oh why did they remove the ONE feature that made Bixby unique - the ability to make custom responses to frequently asked questions. I had over 150 questions that made other Google assistant/Siri users take a serious look at Bixby. Bring it back NOW !!!!!

Yup.. Same here , so annoying..!!
Hate it ..

Go into Bixby settings. There you'll find a tutorial. I'll explain what Bixby is and what you can do using it. The tutorial is very informative.

Been through the tutorial already. Bixby seems to find my calendar stuff better than Google. But Google does some things better than Bixby lol..

I don't use it or any virtual assistant for that matter. Would much rather just have a mappable button, without a 3rd party app
