Can swipe up from bottom of home screen where the home button is , it bring Google assistant.

Bixby is alright. But admittedly, it was a bit more polished on the Note 8 in terms of ease of use, setup and voice recognition. THE Bixby experience is not exactly the same between Note 8 and Note 9, IMHO.

I agree. It was a lot better and more interactive on my N8. I don't use it at all on the N9 cos it does nothing to remind me it exists.

When Bixby originally rolled out, wasn't the long term goal for it to be able to do both the internal functions & a google assistant replacement?

Regardless, did not find a use for it on my S8+ & have not signed into it on the Note 9. Since the update last month, have been using the single press of the button to open the camera.

I been trying to use Bixby and Google assistant more. It seems they each have certain abilities the other does not. Bixby has better control over phone settings while Google assistant does better with internet activities.

But now I realize I'm having the same issue as another poster. Voice response stopped after pie update.

I wanted to use it at night to start and stop music without looking at screen. But once music starts Bixby won't wake up on voice ommand.

You know that a double press of the lock button will launch the camera, right?

Well,... uh...yeah. But one press is so much faster... ;)

Honestly, completely forgot about that. Just switched it to something else. Thanks.

LOL. Just giving you options, my friend. I was wondering why you would have two dedicated hardware buttons for launching the camera.

Personally I just ignore the Bixby button. I hate its placement. I have it set to double click to open Bixby, and I never use it.

I don't use Bixby on my phone. (Note 9) in fact I disabled it. But I do use it on my Galaxy watch Active. Usually to set alarm or timer.

I totally agree with you, Note 8 bixby is more responsive and more sensitive than in the Note 9, I have the device now for about 7months but I still fail to get the response. I took the Note 8 and wala all is good. Very sad FOR BIXBY ON THE NOTE9:(

I use the Bixby alarm. I like the background music while she reads the news headlines and forecast.

Ugh! No. I tried it a couple times, but it gets trash search results compared to Google Assistant. I've remapped the Bixby button to start Facebook instead.

It isn't Google assistant, it runs the hardware. Look on YouTube

I remember using Bixby on my s8+ and it was actually pretty good. Fast forward to the note 9 and it literally doesnt work. In the two weeks I have had my phone Bixby has literally learned **** about my day to day. I get zero suggestions about anything and I never get cards in Bixby home with things like I use to. I call my son every day at the same ******* time. On the s8 Bixby would always have a card saying you normally call this contact at this time would you like to call. That has never happened, I have never had any commute information pop up. Other than being an annoying g button I accidentally hit when I try to screen ****. Is there an actual purpose for Bixby.

I have enabled all the permissions, I have added all my addresses to my Samsung account, I have even added relationships to my samsung account. Still I can not get Bixby to even get me directions to my work. Or to even text my ******* kid with out asking which contact do you want to text. What the hell happen to this service.

I agree, on my Note 8 it was easier and faster to use. Now it doesn't even get basic commands without repeating it and almost always gets it wrong. The user experience on the Note 8 was more intuitive and personalised. On the note 9, Bixby still acts like a total stranger after nearly 5 months of use.
