Does anyone besides me with the period key would disappear?

Remove the period key on the HTC keyboard?

Overall, I love the HTC keyboard, but I spend a great deal of time deleting accidental periods. Further frustration occurs because hitting the backspace button screws up the auto-correct feature. The reason? The spacebar key is too small and the period key is inconveniently located right next to it. The fact that two taps of the spacebar automatically inserts a period, reduces the relevance of the period anyway, so why have it there? Why move it to the 12# menu instead?

Does the swype keyboard have this also? Try different keyboards.

I've tried them all. I even purchased a bunch of them back when I had the Motorola Droid. I just don't like them and end up using the stock again. I'm trying to condition my brain to look at the spacebar before I hit it, for better accuracy, but it's been difficult.

I voted yes (b/c of keyboard layout), but my problem happens more with the cursor keys...ugg.

Regarding the "." key; devil's advocate could argue that using single space after the end of a sentence (instead of double spacing for automatic "."), could save precious space allowing for more text.

I switched to smart keyboard pro for this one simple fact.......the space bar is longer and I was tired of hitting the period instead of space. Honestly after using smart keyboard for a day it was well worth the 2 bucks imho.

I thought I tried that one, but maybe I didn't. I'll have another look at it.
