Does anyone care about this phone being only 3g?

Me. I root so I can use the net. I travel all over the US but sometimes I may be home for months and when I am, I us my uverse internet at home. I don't abuse, just wish they had roll over data. I love the 4g. If it stays 8mbps that's fast enough. Anymore is a bonus.

Yep it will definitely be a problem for sales if this is 3g only I will wait for something else. I myself don't have 4g where I live but when I travel I get it and its worth having trust me it can only get better from here.

I'm on the fence about this. I'm not in a 4G area and will normally have access to high speed WiFi. So I will have 4G-like speeds anyway unless I'm away from home/work. But on the other hand, I also want something as future proof as possible.

It would stop me even though I don't have LTE in my area yet. I would have to assume that Verizon will have LTE in my area before my next contract is up (Say I buy an SGSII today and before my contract expires 20 months from now....I get LTE in my area). So yeah, I'd want to future proof my phone as well. Plus I was grandfathered into the unlimited data.

See I agree with you guys. I want to future proof my phone and make sure I have the latest. Not having 4g on this phone kinda killed it for me.

I can live without it. The phone's speed is more important this point. My Droid is too slow to take advantage of full 3G web browsing.

I'm with you there. I bet going from my Eris to a 3G SGS2 will make it feel like 4G.
