Does anyone else have a stretching effect on their camera's pics?

Does anyone else have a "stretching" effect with pictures coming from the Rezound's camera? for some reason my pictures have this weird stretching effect on the left and right side of the pictures.

Here's an example of a photo I took earlier today. Look at the white building to the left, there's a stretching effect on the building.

Is there a way to get rid of this effect?

What were the camera settings on for the pic? Can you post 1-2 more pics that show this "stretching" effect? It's hard to look at a single pic that demonstrates it b/c, more often than not, a similar effect can be achieved just by the angle of a given snapshot. On the left I do see what you would be referring to, the building appears to get taller from the middle of pic, expanding as it pans to the left but on the right I see nothing odd whatsoever. Which would seem to indicate stretching is more illusion than fact. Or maybe I just need to visit an optician for an exam.

Are you sure it isn't geometric distortion from the wide angle lens? If I take pictures of things with straight lines the bowing is quite noticeable.

here's another picture. please excuse my mess lol. The tv is distorted

I believe the camera settings for both pics were auto scene, no flash, incandescent white balance, auto ISO, 8 MP, no auto focus, no auto enhance. The first pic might have been in landscape mode. The 2nd might've had flash.

Is there any way to remove or prevent this geometric distortion? I've seen some other pics from others from the Rezound and I don't see any of the distortion that I get.

Almost all lenses suffer from varying amounts of pincushion and barrel distortion. If the lens is wide angle, it's worse. If the lens is wide angle and on a phone, expect it to be very noticeable on some shots. Sometimes optical zoom can compensate, but I don't know of any phone cameras with optical zoom. You might not see the it in other shots taken by Rezound owners, but it's there, the content of the pic just makes it hard to discern. It's definitely not a defect though. I don't have experience with Photoshop, but it may be able to remove it. Maybe someone else has a software suggestion..

Congrats on the PS3. :p

that's weird. What's odd is that on my first pic the left side is stretched but the right isn't. I wonder if it is because of some settings?

btw I returned my PS3 haha

Do you have it set on 4:3 or 16:9? That might affect it.

Good point, that was what I was wondering when I asked about the settings. Widescreen could certainly produce that distorted appearance in an angled shot like that.

16:9. I set the option to 4:3, but it still looked as if there was some distortion while viewing it on the phone.

Go stand directly in front of something & shoot a pic head on w/ a level object that spans across the pic to compare.
