I was just wondering if i need to take back my GS3 because it seems to get very warm after playing a game or browsing on the web for about 7 minutes. I went to Verizon and the rep told me that they all get hot awhen playing a game or being on the web for a certain amount of time. I have a battery temp checker and it will go up to 40 which to me is uncomfortable. The big question is does anyone have a gs3 that stays cool or does not get warm? Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Depends really ....are you browsing over 3g or 4g ....if so are you in a good signal area .... are you on wifi ?? Phones all get hot when stressed mine gets hot when doing alot over 3g after 15 minutes or so.

The more processor intensive activity you do the hotter the device will run. Mainly in part because the bigger the draw on the battery as the battery discharges it gives off heat.

This goes for gaming, 4g/LTE activity and so forth.

Yea what he said above ....I enjoy the warmth I was able to fry my eggs this morning on my screen , never could do that with my old iPhone.

I've had my GS III for over a week now and haven't experienced anything like that. It gets warm, but not hot. BTW - GS III is the best phone ever. :D

It's gets *warm* with general extended use, such as web browsing. It tends to get *hot* when I'm watching videos (i.e. slingplayer) for an extended period of time though.

I've had my S3 for about a month or so and haven't experienced the same issues you're describing. It does get a little warm but not hot.

On the weekends I will often lay in bed for a couple hours in the morning browsing and it never gets warm. I only ever notice it getting warm if I'm charging it while doing something that requires a lot of processing power (like playing a game or in my car using navigation). I would guess something is not right if a few minutes of browsing is noticeably heating up your phone.

The amoled screens can get fairly warm as well as the Razr amoled screens. But as far as the battery in either one the battery runs cool compared to the HTC Rezound. HTC and Verizon both say that the heat from the Rezound was normal. So if are worried about the GSIII heat, find somweone with a Rezound and compare the two. After 20 min. with each and you will not worry about your GSIII anymore.
