Does anyone here also have a S6?

So I have been with LG since the N4 then went G3 and now G4.

When I went to Costco in Canada I had my mind set on the S6. I was going to just buy it. Then the salesman who seemed to know his stuff talked me into the G4.

I have no issues with this phone. It is beautiful. But I have never had a Samsung and the thought of having the amoled is attractive to me as fun factor.

I'm still in my 14 day return period. But it would be a hassle and I already bought a screen protector. But 2 years is a long time to wonder about a decision on contract.

Can anyone here talk me out of this? Should I switch? Again I think they are similar in performance and have no complaints so far about the G4.

Buy S6 which also has the 14 day return period I'm sure. And use them BOTH until you decide which one you want and before the time ends on the G4 14 day return?

I love my S6! Best smartphone I've had! :)

When your S6 battery dies halfway through the day just swap in a new one and you'll be fine....oh wait...

You mean the luxurious leather back? :p

stmax, if you do a search, there have have been a number of threads about S6 vs G4. Neither phone is perfect, I'd say at least in part it comes down to what your priorities are. If you cannot live without a fingerprint reader, then the S6 is clearly the phone for you. If you must have removable storage, then you want a G4. If you need the ability to swap batteries during the day, then again, G4. Each has their nice features.

I had an AMOLED on my S3. It was nice that I could view it in landscape mode while wearing polarized sunglasses. And I like the fact that dimmer screens with an AMOLED actually use less power (so you can use a dark theme/background to save battery). But there are a lot of things I like about my G4 over the S6, at least on paper. I have not owned an S6, though.

All in the eyes of the beholder. My S6 has been my best smartphone out of a ton of iPhones, Note 3, and S5.

Oh I agree with you there. I wanted to love the S6 and edge having come from two previous Samsungs but when they did away with removable batteries and storage I decided it was time to try something else.

I can understand that. For me, having been with Apple so long, I got accustomed to no SD card or removeable battery. I did not utilize either in the Note 3 or S5. The S6 is what I was already used to but with a better OS in my opinion. A lot say the phone looks like an iPhone which is fine but the OS is what is important to me.

Agreed, the S6 only looks like an iphone because of the glass construction and physical button. That's where the similarities end if you ask me.

Before the G4 I had a GS4 and it was the first phone I had owned a spare battery kit for. I loved basically never having to have my phone plugged in, I was so disappointed they left that out now.

I have had a few very slight lags here and there and minor touch screen sensitivity issues with my G4 as have a lot of people. But otherwise I have not looked back from my change in brand, it has definitely been an upgrade in experience from the S4 and I didn't lose the functionality I loved in the S4 either like I would have if I'd gone S6.

That's good! That's the beauty of android! It is associated with so many devices you get to find the device that works for you and run with it!

Then why are you hanging out in an LG forum?
On Tapatalk it has an "Unread" section that lists different topics from different forums. If I find one interesting I'll comment in it. I don't typically pay attention to the subforum.

I didn't know that. I used to use tapatalk to access some sites that weren't mobile friendly otherwise, but haven't used out in a couple years.

Yup! It's pretty cool! It allows me to read up on stuff I wouldn't otherwise see in the S6 subforum! :)

I have both and I can't say that one is better than the other just different. LG pluses for me are 5.5 inch display, rear buttons and battery life, although battery on s6 is manageable. Fingerprint scanner is cool but not a necessity. It locked my wife out a couple of times and now she doesn't even use it. Not a big fan of Amoled and I always dial it down when I use it. I am noticing more lag on the s6 also. Wireless charging works great but prefer to have removable battery.

I'm very happy with my G4, but my recommendation for the OP would be to return his, and try the S6. "What-if"is not a state I would want to spend the next two years in.

Amoled is perhaps more vivid but you have great risks of burn-ins, taking away the joys of using car apps for long drives
